Asda store support local growing project Sabden Growers
Bolton Asda store Community Champion donated gardening and refreshments to the Sabden Growers who are a local gardening and allotment group based on the Johnson Fold estate.
The group is run by Gordon and Sue Parsonson and eight other volunteers.
Throughout August, the group have been delivering weekly session on Wednesday and Thursday 10am until 2pm at the allotment to families on the estate, teaching them recycling, composting, planting and growing vegetables, arts and crafts , teaching how to look after chickens.
The group also caters for special needs and anyone with mental health problems.
Gordon and Sue are delighted with the donation from Asda which will help them prepare for next season.
Christine Baldwin community champion said âWe are very keen to support groups throughout September and onwards who are delivering sustainable activities.â
