Adele says Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Richie friendship humanised me

Adele has opened up on her special friendship with LA neighbours Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Richie.

The Grammy winner, whose new album 30 is set to drop on November 19, said her friendship with the stars helped to “humanise her”.

She confessed that before her alliance to the duo, she tried to avoid speaking to fellow famous people stateside as she didn’t feel she was famous herself.

“I’m very British like that,” she told Rolling Stone magazine.

She revealed that the trio never speak about work, which helped them form a tight bond.

The Easy On Me singer, 33, continued: “[We] never spoke about work, which was amazing, because most of the time when I catch up with someone, they want to know all about my work, and I’m like, I don’t want to talk about that.”

She said she would tell people to change the subject if they brought up work and would say she was “knackered” from talking about her work.

Adele first met Hollywood star Jennifer, 31, in 2013 when the pair attended the Oscars, where the singer picked up a gong for her James Bond theme Skyfall.

The Hunger Games star previously spoke of the moment she watched Adele perform from backstage at the Oscars.

She told Time magazine in 2016: “I remember sneaking backstage while she performed Skyfall trying to squeeze a ball gown past a pile of ropes and cables just to get a little closer.

“See her from another angle as if to peek behind the Great Oz’s curtain.”

Adele later attended Jennifer’s wedding to Cooke Maroney on October 19, 2019 at the Belcourt of Newport in Rhode Island.

Adele is currently dating American sports agent Rich Paul, 39, following her divorce from Simon Konecki, whom she shares son Angel.

She confessed that dating in LA following the split wasn’t easy and there was no way she could go on a blind date.

“I lasted five seconds [dating here],” she said. “You can’t set me up on a f*****g blind date! I’m like, “How’s that going to work?” There’ll be paparazzi outside and someone will call DeuxMoi, or whatever it’s f*****g called! It ain’t happening.
